On Monday 2 June 2014 at 8:00 p.m., a charity concert of the band Chinaski will take place in the Villa Tugendhat; proceeds from ticket sales will be donated in full to the Traumatology Centre of the Children’s Hospital in Brno.
Financial proceeds will be used to purchase instruments and equipment for the trauma centre ward with an instruments table valued at 80,000 CZK and a children’s positioning cot with an active mattress and accessories worth 20,000 CZK.
The idea to try to take advantage of the public interest in a tour of the villa for a charitable purpose gave rise to a unique cooperation of the Kolečko Endowment Fund with the Brno City Museum / Villa Tugendhat.
Next year will mark 60 years since the establishment of a rehabilitation centre for children with spine defects at University Children’s Hospital in Brno in the Villa Tugendhat which operated there for almost 25 years. The “Kolečko” Endowment Fund, which helps children affected by traffic accidents or other injuries, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. This is an ideal situation for joint support of one of eight children’s injury centres in the Czech Republic, Brno Children’s Hospital Emergency Centre!
