This year’s second film screening in Tugendhat’s glass room will be devoted to the film noir Key Largo, directed by John Huston in 1948. Humphrey Bogart stars in the title role of Frank McCloud, other roles include Edward G. Robinson (Johnny Rocco), Lauren Bacall (Nora Temple) and Lionel Barrymore (James Tempe).
At the onset, Frank McCloud decides to visit the widow and father of his late WW2 friend, who own hotels in Key Largo, Florida. But when he arrives at the hotel, he finds that they are completely controlled by gangsters headed by Johnny Rocco. How this difficult plot ends, you can see for yourself on 25 April in the iconic Villa Tugendhat living room.
The film, which was awarded an Oscar for the Best Supporting Actor, will be screened in the original version with Czech subtitles, the film is 1h and 40 minutes long.
