Music Marathon 2024

The Music Marathon festival must not be omitted in the Villa Tugendhat events calendar of course. This year's concert in the main living room of Villa Tugendhat will feature Anežka Nováková and Keishiro Mikawa.

Anežka Nováková

Anežka Nováková is a drummer and percussionist, a graduate of the Bachelor’s programme of the Jazz Department at JAMU music academy and currently a student of the Department of Percussion Instruments there. She is a member of the Orchestral Academies of the Czech Philharmonic and the Brno Philharmonic and regularly collaborates with other professional orchestras. She has given solo performances with the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava, the Janáček Academic Orchestra and has also given recitals at the Brno Music Marathon and the International Symposium in Trstěnice. She is actively involved in the promotion and popularisation of music for percussion instruments.

Keishiro Mikawa

Keishiro Mikawa was born in Fukuoka, Japan.

He started playing piano at the age of five and cello at the age of ten. He completed his studies at Tokyo Metropolitan Comprehensive Art High School (TMCAHS) in 2014, first as a piano student and later changing his major to cello. He continued his studies at Tokyo University of the Arts, where he graduated in 2018. Since 2019 he has been living in Prague, where he studies with Prof. Michal Kaněk and Tomáš Jamník. In 2020 he played at the opening concert of the 29th International Festival Young Prague. From August 2022 to August 2023 he was a member of the PKF Orchestral Academy (Prague Philharmonia) and since October 2023 he has been a member of the National Theatre Orchestra in Brno.
