The international symposium MATERIALITY focused on research and care regarding preservation of building surfaces of the Classic Modern took place at the Brno Exhibition Grounds from 27–29th April 2006. Villa Tugendhat was the focus of a block of separate lectures.
The Brno House of Arts housed the exhibition “TUGENDHATUGENDHATUGENDHAT” from 17th May up until 6th August 2006 organised by the Brno House of Arts, the Villa Tugendhat Foundation and the Brno City Museum (17th May– 6th August 2006). The results of the construction-history research, restoration research, the project for the prepared renewal, family photography by Fritz Tugendhat and photography by Daniela Vokounová & David Židlický were all presented here. The curator of the exhibition with a small cycle of lectures was Jitka Pernesová.
