A gala opening of an exhibition took place in the House of Art on Tuesday 10 September 2013. WILHELM LEHMBRUCK (1881–1919) RETROSPECTIVE has been organized by the Brno House of Arts, Brno City Museum and Villa Tugendhat Foundation.
Special guest, Mrs. Bettina Lehmbruck-Mangold, granddaughter of Wilhelm Lehmbruck, greeted guests by a personal speech on the life and work of her grandfather.
Further speeches were held by Brno House of Arts director Terezie Petišková, director of the Brno City Museum Pavel Ciprian and Deputy Mayor of the City of Brno Jana Bohuňovská. The exhibition was introduced by its curator in the Brno House of Arts, Jana Vránová.
Director of Villa Tugendhat Iveta Černá with Dagmar Černoušková introduced a publication titled TORSO. A Work of Art in Villa Tugendhat, prepared on the occasion of the exhibition by the Study and Documentation Centre of the Villa Tugendhat.
