Video Tugendhat 90

In the December days of 2020, we commemorated the 90^th anniversary of the completion and building approval of Villa Tugendhat, designed by the world-famous architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

In addition to the RE.FLECTION.TUGENDHAT.90 series of exhibitions summarizing the known knowledge about this building, the Villa Tugendhat curatorial team together with the d.o.p. and director Jiří Zykmund prepared a unique video documentary capturing the current appearance of the main space of the house and its architectural essence. The free-flowing, unrestricted space, flowing through glass walls and recessed windows into the garden area.
The mood of the living room literally changes according to the weather or the time of day and night, where at night the effect of endless mirroring of the space stands out, both in its glass walls and in the glass furniture or the chrome-plated sheathing of the steel support columns. Originally a family home, today an installed monument of modern architecture comes alive with the voices of guides and visitors.
